Let’s Get Rolling

Happy Friday, everyone!
The good news is that this article will only take a couple of minutes to read. The great news is that it includes a link to a 1973 BMW 3.0 CSL with 223 photos that may keep you scrolling a little longer. No bad news here.
Today, we’re looking at Keanu Reeves’ new acting job, the Saab 900, and a car that probably requires a three-piece suit just to start.
What's Revving?

Hyundai
Keanu Reeves is Hosting Cadillac’s Formula One Team Docuseries: We never took John Wick to be a major F1 fan, but we wouldn’t want anyone else explaining the engineering troubles and driving mechanics in Cadillac’s new docuseries.
2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N Prototype Drive: Set to debut on July 10, Hyundai has managed to do just about everything right with its N line. If this is anything like the Ioniq 5 N, it’s going to become a new fan favourite.
Over 10K Hemi Engine Truck Orders in 24 Hours: If anything says people aren’t ready to switch to EVs, it’s 10,000 people sprinting to get their hands on a truck with a 5.7-litre Hemi V-8 that sprints to 60 in five seconds. However, at 22 mpg on the highway, it’s no Corolla, but the fuel economy is better than expected.
Car of the day: First-Generation Saab 900

In 1978, the Saab 900 wasn’t trying to be like anything else, and that’s exactly why people loved it. It looked different and felt more like a jet cockpit than a car. With the ignition in the centre console, Saab knew how to make people smile. It’s actually scientifically proven that if every car felt more like a jet cockpit, global happiness would increase.
Things got even better in 1979 with the 900 Turbo. Under the hood was a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that delivered an increase in power. For the time, it was quick even with the turbo lag. In 1984, Saab released the SPG as a performance variant with 175 horsepower.
From the outside, the 900 had a shape that turned heads. Inside, it came with deep seats, a turbo gauge (which should be a requirement in every turbocharged car), and a ton of storage. It was fun and practical.
By the time production wrapped up in 1993, Saab had sold over 900,000 units of the 900. Fast forward almost 50 years and the 900 Turbo and SPG are still fan favourites.
This leaves you with two options if you’re trying to have a happier life: buy a Saab 900 Turbo or convert your Corolla interior into a jet cockpit. At that point, the Saab is probably the cheaper option.

Auction Watch
1973 BMW 3.0 CSL: If you ever open a car listing that has 223 photos, it means one of two things: someone accidentally uploaded their entire camera roll, or the car is an absolute work of art. Well, in this case, the car is an absolute work of art.
1953 Mercedes-Benz 220A Cabriolet: Can you wear everyday clothes and drive a ’53 220A Cabriolet? Will it even start if you aren’t in a three-piece suit with a monocle?
1953 MG TD Midget: It’s no 220A Cabriolet, but it is listed at one one-hundredth of the price. This one definitely starts without the three-piece suit — a leather jacket and jeans will do just fine.
